Dette er ikke mitt nyeste reisemål, men et sted jeg har kommet over flere ganger i de siste ukene.
Fikk en bok av far som heter "The lost city of Z" av David Grann som handler om en journalist som skal forsøke å finne spor etter en oppdager som prøvede å finne den hemmelige byen Z i Amazonas jungelen for rundt 80 år siden. Har ikke kommet så langt i boka enda, sparer den til flyturen til Tasmania, men til nå virker det som en god bok!
Litt mer research har nå fortalt meg at Brad Pitt kommer til å spille oppdaeren fra 1920 tallet i en film som skal spilles inn.
Tilbake til Amazonas kommentaren....
Dagbladet.no skriver i dag om Ed Stafford en brite som har gått Amazonas på tvers de siste 860 dagene! Hvor han har møtt på kaimaner, anakonda slanger, fientlige indianerstammer, sykdom, matmangel osv.!
Han og ledsagener har overlevd på Pirajaer (!!!), ris og bønner!

Don't worry. The Amazon is not my newest travel goal. It just seems like a lot of the topics I see in the media and read about are about this part of the world.
Before I left Norway my dad gave me a book called "The lost city of Z" by David Grann. It tells the story about a journalist in modern day who is going into the Amazon to try to find a trace of what happened to a group of explorers who tried to find the city of Z about 80 years ago.
I have not read much in the book yet (as I think I should save it for the long plane trip to Tasmania), but it is very promising soo far.
Also read about the Amazon on one of the Norwegian newspaper websites today. It was an article about Ed Staffard who has walked across the Amazon over the last 860 days!! Where he met kaimans, anacondas, intimidating nativs and diseases.
Ed and his mate survived on Piranha (!!!), rice and beans!!
At least they have courage... and may be a bit crazy !
